STRIPPING OFF THE HARDWARE I

When stripping off the Hardware you have to put the guitar on a large, clean, flat and soft surface.
This minimizes any potential chance of damaging the guitar.
You can probably see from these pix that the guitar doesn't actually have a bound fingerboard,
but the paint has been sprayed up to the top edge of the fingerboard.

The hardware has been taken off, apart from the scratch-plate, and needs to be kept together.
It can also be seen that the original tailpiece studs are still in place.
One of the tasks to do on this guitar will be to remove these studs (extremely carefully) and
'plug'
the holes.

Once the scratch-plate has been taken off you can see the discolouration caused to the lacquer by age.
All the 'bits and pieces must now be collected together and put safely in a box of some sort.
Another interesting feature to note is that the scratch-plate material is a 4-ply laminate.....
.....white, black, white, black.
