THE ROYALE 'SWORDSTRESS' PROTOTYPE

Andy Powell trying out the Swordstress Prototype.

The Swordstress is a new model for 2005.
This is the first completely new guitar I have designed for quite some time.

The Swordstress is pictured here with Andy Powell giving her a try out during the sound check at Newport Show on 24th April during the UK Tour 2005.

More detailed pictures will be up as soon as possible.

Construction

The Prototype has an Obechi Body, glued in Maple Neck and Ebony Fingerboard with medium/heavy fretwire.
Production model options can be Alder (either US or UK), Swamp Ash or Basswood with a glued in Maple neck,
or as an alternative:
Mahogany or Korina for the Body and glued in Neck (for a 'warmer' tone).
The Fingerboard can be either
Ebony or Rosewood and 'bound' or 'unbound' options are available.
Scale length -
25 1/2".

Colour - Champagne
A wide range of
Colours or Stains choices available for the body and neck.
The head-face is
Ebony with a Brass Crown Inlay.
The
Prototype has small 4mm MOP dot inlays in the fingerboard - the Production models will have a distinctive set of hand cut MOP inlays.

She has a 4x2 style for the machineheads in the laid back headstock, deep comfort contours on both front and back of the body and 'full access cutaways' for the 24 frets.

Pickups and Hardware

The standard 'Mag' pickups are a set of Seymour Duncans: A JB at the bridge, a Cool Rails in the middle and a JB Junior at the neck.
There is a standard 5 way pickup selector switch and a volume control for these 3 pickups.
The Bridge is a
satin chrome Wilkinson VS 100 with a Graphtech Piezo System onboard... Graphtech saddles and preamp powered by a PP3 battery in the control compartment (which is completely copper screened)
. The other control knob on the front of the guitar is the volume for the piezo system.
A
stereo output jack socket supplies the pickup signals (the 'mag' and piezo systems are completely separate), but if a standard mono jack is used the 'mags' work as normal.
The machines are
Sperzel 'locking' type in satin chrome to match the bridge.
She is also fitted with standard
chrome Schaller strap locks.

So... there she is.
