MAKING AN ANGEL

Routing the Truss Rod Slot

PAGE 2

1st Cut of about 1/8".
( No power to the Router when the picture was taken.)

2nd Cut of about another 1/8".
( No power to the Router when the picture was taken.)

3rd and Final Cut takes the slot down to a depth - a fraction over 3/8".
(
No power to the Router when the picture was taken.)

A bit of 3/8" aluminium channel (as will be used for the Truss Rod) has been laid in the slot to check for depth

The slot depth is critical and needs to be 'fractionally' more than 3/8"..... so the difference can't actually be measured but can be 'felt' when a finger is passed over the wood and channel.

A comparison of two neck blanks - one routed and marked, the other just prepared.

Now back to the main Making an Angel Page.
