ROYAL 'THRU-NECK' CUSTOM 1988
"That Guitar".....see Personal Reviews.
We're hoping to get better 'frontal' pix as soon as possible.

This guitar was made in 1988 as a custom order for Nigel Cowley (Nidge).
Nidge goes into some detail in his Review
about the various bits and bobs concerning
this guitar, so I'll leave that to him. There is a link at the bottom of this
page.....
.....but basically she has a Maple
Thru-neck with Mahogany wings
and a 25 1/2" Ebony
Fingerboard with 3/16th"
Mother-of-Pearl dots
and discrete MOP Crown inlay
on the Ebony
head-face of the headstock,
She is equipped with a Jackson Pickup, Kahler
Pro Trem, Schaller Machines
a single volume
control but also a pre-settable Jackson onboard
preamp.
One of the most important features to Nidge was the lack
of a 'heal' allowing the large quantity
of wood to be carved away where a standard neck
joint would be..... this gives pretty un-paralleled
access to the top frets..... and the pix below
show this quite well.
The colour is actually Coral,
or as Nidge says - "Picato Red".
I did a Medusa
Junior Guitar for the Picato
Strings stand at the BMF in 1989,
in
this colour, but although she was made later than this guitar - I think "Picato
Red"
is a very suitable name.

These pix show Nidge's favorite bits - the rear contours !
(Pix thanks to Nigel Cowley 2003)
