Checking for Flat and Level across the Neck Blank with an Engineers Square.

 

Checking for Flat and Level across the Headface with an Engineers Square.

 

Checking for Flat and Level along the Neck Blank with an Straight Edge.

 

Checking for Flat and Level across the Headface with an Steel Rule (or Straight Edge).

 

Once all the above has been checked, the centre-line and the position of the Truss Rod slot are marked in.
The Slot will run from 1 1/4" in front of the position of the Top Nut (where the neck angle breaks) to under where the 22nd fret will be.

The Next Stage will be to Cut the Truss Rod Slot. Now, back to Making an Huntress.
