MAKING AN ANGEL
Making and Gluing on the Headstock 'Wings'
PAGE 2
Lining up

When the surfaces to be jointed of both the Neck and 'Wings' are ready..... 'offer them up' a few times to make sure the joint will be tight with no gaps. The the 'Wings' can then be lined up and marked with the Headstock pattern.
Preparation, Gluing and Clamping

These are the 'bits and pieces' that are needed to glue on the Headstock 'Wings'.
Titebond* wood
glue. A Cloth that you can 'damp' down.
A Sharp Blade of some type.
A Biro. A
Ruler.
3 Cam
Clamps..... and
of course the Neck and the
Pair
of 'Wings'.

All the areas
of wood that will be in
contact when jointed need to be 'scored' in
a 'criss-cross'
pattern with a Sharp Blade. This means -
both the Wings and the sides
of the Neck blank.
( This helps the glue joint by increasing the
surface area that the glue is in contact with and allows for deeper glue
penetration.)

'Smear' an even layer of glue on all the pieces to be joined.

'Offer' them up
and squeeze the Wings
together until the glue 'oozes' out evenly,
making sure then the Biro marks 'line up'.

Wipe off all the excess glue with the damp cloth.
