MAKING AN ANGEL
Gluing on the Headface
PAGE 2

Setting the Disc
Sander to the required angle
for the Veneer.
(
Obviously No
power to the Sander when the picture was taken.)
Sanding

Sanding the Veneer
using the Disc Sander
with 80 grit
paper.
Alternatively,
the angle can be sanded by hand
by using a block or planed.
( No
power to the Sander when the picture was taken.)

The Veneer has
been sanded to an angle slightly more than 'square' to
the neck..... the back of the Top
Nut, at this
point, normally would have a slight angle on it as
well so this should make a nice 'snug' fit.
A Centre-line and the Headstock
pattern must be drawn on the Veneer
at this point in time.
The Veneer then laid on the Headstock to check
both the angle and the line-up.
Dry Fit

Now a 'Dry Fit'
can
be tried.
4 small 1mm
holes need to be drilled in the Veneer
- 'outside'
the Headstock outline.
The Veneer can be 'lined up' and
held in position by placing Veneer
pins through the drilled holes and gently
tapping them into the waste area of Headstock (
that
will later be cut off anyway.)

Then check that
the 'Pad' will also fit in the right
place.
After that, the 'Pad' can be removed and the Veneer pins
taken out
with some Pliers.
Then the surfaces to be glued can be prepared.
