GIGS IN THE '70s PART II

Rainbow at the Rainbow 1977.
We were right down at the front for this - Woof !
Ritchie Blackmore decided to smash up a guitar -
a '70s Fender Strat - and I got the Headstock inc'
the Machine Heads !
I still have it, but the machines went to a young
guy - I repaired his St**t in about 1986.
( I'll try and find the headstock for a picture.)

Uriah Heep 1977.
Great Band, but on this occasion the PA
was 'crap' and my right ear was 'rattling'
all the way through the gig - not good !
Mick Box on guitar - very versatile.

Nazareth 1977.
Oh Yes At the front again for this one.
Manny Charlton is one of the most underrated
players ever - His
LP Pro Deluxe really sang -
Great Gig !

Status Quo 1977.
This was great for a 'bop'.

Judas Priest 1978.
All I remember about this was -
It was
Very Loud !

Blue Oyster Cult 1978.
This was great, and culminated with the whole
band playing guitars for the encore -
Amazing !

Black Sabbath 1978.
Black Sabbath's 10th Anniversary Tour with -
Van Halen as Support.
Best Support I ever saw - and they did an encore !!!
Sabbath were Stunning and I got up for a 'bop'
with
Ozzy, Tony 'n' Geezer.....
.....and didn't get 'done by the heavies' !

1978.
This was an outside all day 'Do' with 'Santana' headlining.
Also up were '
Southside Johnny', 'Crawler' and others that I
can't remember I'm afraid.
Carlos was awesome and there were hundreds dancing
in the pool in front of the stage - very hot day.....
in more ways than one !
Brilliant !
