ELECTRA CUSTOM - FINGERBOARD CLOSE-UP
Greaves.
She was made in 1989, but is still in
remarkably good condition.
You can see in
detail the "lapped" method of banding a fingerboard.
This gives a much smoother feel to the neck, as the frets "end" at the
edge of the fingerboard itself and "not" the banding. This
method is
more time consuming during construction, but this factor is "offset"
by the " smoother and overall more comfortable feel " when playing.
You can also see the
fine detail of the "hand-cut" Mother-of -Pearl
inlays into the Ebony fingerboard, and also see the "Low Action".
